鲁迅先生生前,曾经对葛饰北斋的浮世绘(即社会风俗画)(注)有所评论,在一九三四年春致日本友人山本初枝的书简里说道:“关于日本浮世绘师,我年轻时喜欢的是北斋,现在则喜爱广重,其次则为歌麿的人物”。接着又说:“不过依我看,适合中国人一般眼光的,恐怕还是北斋。”鲁迅先生说的这些话,是有充分根据的,是将北斋的浮世绘和中国人民的艺术欣赏眼光联系起来看的。我认为北斋的画最重要的是,反映了日本劳动人民的精神面貌。
Before his death, Mr. Lu Xun once commented on the ukiyoe of Katsushika (the social genre painting) (Note). In the spring of 1934, he wrote to the Japanese friend Yamamoto Shizen: “Regarding Japanese Ukiyo-e, I was young When the North is like, now enjoy heavy, followed by the song of the characters.
