In the literary and artistic works that record human reality, documentary photography emphasizes its social values and documentary values in its own unique visual language. It documents the specific social environment, the vivid characters in the photographic works and the complex and delicate relationships among them The various scenes formed by the photographer sharp moment after the film was permanently fixed in the history of human repertoire, like a classic stills remain in people’s memory. Western drama originated from the eulogy of the ancient Greek sacrifice to God, its accumulation and evolution has gone through thousands of years. And in the history of world photography, Joseph Kocca, born in Moravia, Czech Republic, made a unique relationship between his stills and filmmaking so as to establish a bridge between photography and drama. In contrasting his work with drama, I found that the situation is not unique to drama, but the situation is equally suited to photography, especially documentary photography. However, I find a lot of literature did not find such a study. This article will discuss the basis of the establishment of documentary photography context from several aspects, and then discusses the photographic situation and its characteristics in documentary photography from documentary photography to viewing of the situation, the situation and the situation.
