Objective: To detect the expression of Ang-1, Ang-2, Tie-2 and vascular endothelial growth factor in condyloma acuminatum. Methods: The expressions of Ang-1, Ang-2, Tie-2 and VEGF in 30 lesions of condyloma acuminatum and 20 normal controls were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results: The positive rates of Ang-2, Tie-2 and VEGF in lesions of condyloma acuminatum were 100%, 93.33% and 100%, respectively, which were significantly higher than those of normal tissues (25.00%, 40.00% and 45.00% x2 values were 32.14, 16.93 and 18.07 respectively, all P <0.01). The positive expression rate of Ang-1 in the lesions of condyloma acuminatum was 33.33%, which was not significantly different from that in normal tissues (x2 = 0.06, P> 0.05). Conclusion: Ang / Tie-2 signaling system and VEGF play an important role in the development of condyloma acuminatum.
