1903年,14岁的李振翩,从湖南娄底一个叫琉璃冲的小村步行到省城长沙读书。后来,他成了长沙学生运动领袖之一,并认识了在长沙主办《湘江评论》并且领导学生运动的毛泽东,从此结下深厚友谊。毛泽东亲切地称呼李振翩为‘水牛’,而李振翩则戏称毛泽东为‘水老倌’。 1925年,毛泽东回到湖南再次与他的老朋友李振翩联系共同革命,但是,李振翩正要离开长沙,他在临毕业于湘雅医学院之际,接受了闻名遐迩的北京协和医学院的邀请。他给毛泽东写信:‘革命之途何止一条。改变政治制度,其一也。然众皆亡于无为之疾,不得安其天年,虽新制有何益
1903, 14-year-old Li Zhen Pina, from Loudi, Hunan, a small village called Liuli Chong walk to the provincial capital Changsha to study. Later, he became one of the leaders of the Changsha student movement and met Mao Zedong, who hosted the “Xiangjiang Review” in Changsha and led the student movement, and has since established profound friendship. Mao Zedong affectionately called Li Zhen Pina as ’Buffalo’, while Li Zhen Pian dubbed Mao Zedong ’Water Lao’. In 1925, Mao Zedong returned to Hunan to once again contact his old friend Li Zhen Pina for a common revolution. However, Li Zhenpei was leaving Changsha.
