Overview The impact of natural or man-made disasters has not been regularly declining. The characteristics and influencing factors of some disasters can be used to confirm whether the community is in a high-risk state. Since 1980, more than 2 million people have directly died of natural and man-made disasters. Since the 1970s, the world’s refugee population has increased by 500%, while the world population has only increased by 20%. Registered refugees numbered about 16 million in 1992. The above data do not include the affected population to be resettled in various countries. For example, the population of the Philippines reaches as much as 1.2 million. Women and children make up more than half of the refugee population. In 1992 alone, the disaster directly damaged the homes and living conditions of more than 300 million people.
