翻译是两种文化的交融共生,好的译作不仅仅要忠实于原文,更要为译入语读者所接受和喜爱。要完成一部让读者喜闻乐见的译作,译者必然会根据译入语读者的特点进行各种考量。本文取霍克斯英译版《好了歌》及《好了歌》解为样本,借助传播学中的“受众”相关理论,在西方修辞学的框架下,分析霍克思在《红楼梦》翻译中所体现出的受众意识,解读其译本在西方世界广受欢迎的背后原因,旨在为中国文学作品的对外翻译提供一定的借鉴和启示。
Translation is the blending and coexistence of two cultures. A good translation should not only be faithful to the original, but also be accepted and loved by translators. To complete a translation that is loved by the reader, the translator is bound to make various considerations based on the characteristics of the reader who translates it. In this paper, Hawkes' English version of “Good Songs” and “Good Songs” are taken as examples. Under the framework of western rhetoric, with the help of the related theory of "audience The audience awareness reflected in the transla- tion interprets the reasons behind the popularity of the translation in the western world, which is intended to provide some reference and inspiration for the translation of Chinese literary works.
