甜菜地下部分的块根与地上部分的茎叶之间的功能是否协调,干物质的消耗与积累是否得当,以及生长速度的快慢都会直接影响块根产量和含糖率。为此从一九七四~一九八○年,我们在狼山甜菜试验站连续六年对二十一个品种、品系或组合材料进行了地上部分与地下部分重量比(T/R)(以下称根叶比与产质量相关性)的研究工作。
