许多学者用氟化钠治疗的骨质疏松和我们以前报导的骨质疏松以及其它的代谢性骨病往往并发着氟骨症,这一点扩展了我们的视野,启发我们在下列两组农村人群中进行临床研究:一组居住在水氟低于1.0ppm的非地方病区,另一组居住在水氟高达7.5ppm的地方病区。本研究的目的在于:1)查明代谢性骨病并发地方性氟骨症的流行;2)研究在不同营养条件下氟化物对骨毒性作用的严重程度;3)证实饮水中的天然氟是否有益于骨质疏松。
