Part One Analysis of the Teaching Material
1、Status and Function
Sometimes people feel not good. The topic of this unit is health. In this class, students will learn to give advice. The target language“What should he do? ” is always answered with “He should see a dentist”.
2、The Structure of the Teaching Material
In the first period, students will be asked to play a game to review some words about body.
All the activities in the second period are designed to listen to the tape and learn to give advice.
In the third period, students will play a game in which some of them act as doctors while the others act as patients.
In the last period, students are asked to work in groups of four to six to write advice as much as possible. This is a reinforced practice using the target language. It’s helpful for students to better understand what they have learned in this class and to improve their writing skills.

StepⅠ Warming-up:words game(6minute)
Ask the students to point to the parts of the body when the teacher says the words. Four to five students will be asked to do it in front of the classroom.
(This activity is to help the students to understand the words about the body better.)
StepⅠⅠ Listen and discuss (15 minutes)
In this part, students will see be asked to listen to the tape and fill in the blanks. They will be encouraged to give advice with “should”.
(This activity is to make the students to be familiar with the target language and to improve the students’ speaking and listening skills.)
Step Ⅲ Role play (7 minutes)
Ask the students to work in groups and ask one of them to act as a doctor and the others to act as patients. A conversation will be shown to help them.
(This activity is to improve the students’ speaking skills.)
Step Ⅳ Help your friends (10 minutes)
Each group chooses a kind of illness to talk about. They will also be asked to write down the advice as much as possible on the paper in five minutes. When they are writing, the teacher goes to the students to supple helps if possible. Then the students will be asked to present their advice.
(This activity can help the students to improve their writing skills and make them understand the target language better.)
