我国历代文人骚客重九喜欢登山并留下了大量诗篇。唐代诗人孟浩然有诗:“相望试登高,心随雁飞灭。”王维诗曰:“遥知兄弟登高处,遍插茱萸少一人。”曾广钧亦诗:“一片空岚罩云海,全家罗袜踏苍烟。”相传,重九日登山习俗源于东汉,名士桓景在秋九月九日(农历)凌晨,锁门闭户,举家登山,佩戴茱萸,饮菊花酒,留宿山上一夜,以避邪消灾。此后,重九登山渐成习俗。到了唐代,将九月初九(农历)定为重阳节(长寿日)后,登山就成为这一天的重要活动之一。
