国务院同意中国人民银行「关于进一步发展人民储蓄事业的请示报告」,现在转发给你们,希望加强对这一工作的协助与领导,为国家经济建设吸收更多的资金。鼓励人民节约储蓄是国家的一项重要经济政策。几年来国家银行所吸收的储蓄存款已成为积累国家建设资金的重要源泉,而且在蓄积人民购卖力,调剂商品供应和稳定市场等方面都起了一定的作用。事实证明,人民参加储蓄不仅对国家有利,同时也有利于人民有计划地安排自己的收入和生活的改善。目前大力开展储蓄是有着各种有利条件的。但是储蓄工作的群众性很大,作好这一工作须注意以下几点:

Facts have proved that people’s participation in saving not only benefits the country, but also helps the people to plan their own income and improvement of life in a planned way. At present, there are various favorable conditions for vigorously saving. However, the mass work of savings is very large. The following points should be paid attention to when doing this work:
