In foreign language teaching, it is practicable to cultivate students what kind of phonetic level it achieves. From the nearly ten years of English teaching, the author summarizes the fact that very few young college students graduate as the teacher expected Say “pure, standard English that sounds like English.” From this fact, the author proposes a more realistic new idea of phonetic learning based on relevant theories: that is, try to make learners train and improve according to the phonetic standard “can be understood by communicants including British” , Instead of studying and imitating the level of “talking Prime Minister Blair.”
