近年来我国棉花生产发展很快,1982年棉花总产7000万担,居世界第一。棉花生产发展对棉花加工机械提出了新的要求。我国现有的锯齿轧花机都是50或60年代的老产品,效率低,能耗高,片时产量一般4~5kg,百公斤皮棉耗电量为4~5度,很不适应当前形势和生产发展的需要。为此我们开展了锯片轧花机工作箱试验研究工作。经过两年来三轮样机和70多万斤子棉的试验,达到了预定目标,于1983年4月20~22日通过部级鉴定。

To this end, we have carried out the work of box sawing ginning machine research. After two years of three rounds of prototypes and more than 700,000 kg of cotton, the test has reached its target. It passed the ministerial level appraisal from April 20 to April 22, 1983.
