Abimelech in Chapter 20 of Genesis is one of the most unexplained characters in Abraham’s narrative. In this story, Abimelech prevailed not only in terms of length, but also morally better than Abraham, the patriarchal father of nations, but he was not the protagonist of the story because he could not push the story toward something Goal development in line with Bible narrative needs. At the same time, there is a great deal of tension and tension between Abraham’s image of “villain” and his “father of faith.” It is through creating this kind of narrative tension that the author of Genesis urges readers to fill in the blank to read and understand the subtle but powerful narrative skills of Genesis and the image of God that it reveals.
