Obesity is a risk factor for the onset of many diseases, including diabetes. Lack of information on the levels of essential trace elements in obese gestational diabetes mellitus and their fetuses. The experimental group was obese gestational diabetes mellitus, and the control group was obese non-diabetic pregnant women. Maternal and umbilical cord blood samples were collected during spontaneous labor or caesarean section. The contents of copper, iron, Molybdenum, selenium, zinc concentration; and with the appropriate kit test maternal and cord blood anti-oxidase activity. The distribution and exchange parameters of the trace elements in the mother-fetus were evaluated using established standards. The results showed that the average concentrations of copper, iron, molybdenum, selenium and zinc in the serum of the experimental group were 2441, 2580, 13.3, 85.1 and 610 μg / L, respectively. The corresponding values in the control group were 2420, 2663, 11.0, 89.0 and 666 μg / . There was no significant difference in the activity of three kinds of anti-oxidative enzymes in venous blood between the two groups, and cord blood showed a significant difference. Studies suggest that changes in body antioxidant enzyme activity in gestational diabetes has nothing to do with obesity; changes in some essential trace element levels associated with obesity.
