In this issue, China Pictorial employs photos and texts to tell stories of farmers in the poverty-stricken areas of Inner Mongolia, Henan and Hubei escaping poverty and seizing wealth. We honor firefighters and kindergarten teachers devoted to their work. We also glance at the rich cultural lifestyles of Chinese people through popular activities such as exhibitions and plays.
2020 is the year China’s goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects will be realized and the year China will accomplish its goal of wiping out poverty. The novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) has left a special mark on the year, but China can still feel the strength of the people’s pursuit of better lives and the vigorous pulse of the times. Happiness is creeping in as spring blossoms quietly open.
