Sustainable Transportation– A Revolution to Reshape Urban Space

Heavy traffic， poor air quality， no parking space... As the urban population continues to increase， both urban transportation problems and city dweller’s travel demands have changed.
With the rapid growth of China’s economy， people are constantly pouring into cities to pursue better employment opportunities， find higher-income jobs， and improve their life quality. High-speed urbanization and the accompanying high-speed mechanization have rapidly changed the urban landscape. Dense and low-rise apartment blocks of the past have been transformed into main streets and high rises， and been suburbanized. Suffering traffic jams and environmental pollution， people have to accept longer and longer commutes.
China is now at a critical stage of transition from large-scale urban construction to quality-oriented sustainable urban development. Renewal projects are underway in cities at different levels. Urban Construction should provide local people with high-quality public transportation and communication spaces， and a pleasant living environment. All of these factors have prompted Chinese cities to move toward a people-centered design. Now an increasing number of cities are beginning to develop sustainable traffic design guidelines.
The Core of Chinese Science Fiction

“For Chinese people to make science fiction films， they lack technology， capital， and experience， but the most needed element is the sci-fi feeling， and Guo Fan’s strength lies in the feeling he has for science fiction，” said the Chinese science fiction writer Liu Cixin.
“At the very start， I just thought it was a cool thing to push the earth away from the solar system， until I went to the United States. There I found that Americans do not think that way. They believe it would not be efficient or economical，” said Guo Fan， film director of The Wandering Earth， who believes people’s love of the earth is the unique core element of Chinese culture that gave him the inspiration to make the film.
In the film， it’s not one engine， but 5，000 engines that have gone wrong， and the rescue team is only one of 5，000 rescue teams. Guo Fan does not want to arrange some superhero like the ones who often appear in American blockbusters to save the earth. Those who save the earth should be the countless ordinary people on the earth. The science fiction not only pursues amazing audiovisual effects， but also focuses on core cultural elements and pivotal emotions.
A New Kind of Work in the Future

Science and technology have changed the form of our work. Although artificial intelligence is in its infancy， it has begun to take over the simple， repetitive jobs that were previously performed by humans. In 2018， the number of jobs involving customer service and junior consulting skills decreased by 30 percent compared to 2017， ranking it the first among all skills. However， the relationship between artificial intelligence and human beings is less than a situation of wane and wax.
New technology has given rise to new demands and created changes in jobs. Semir Group， the first to use artificial intelligence， used the division of labor between people and machines to cope with growing business. The team of staff who do customer service has not reduced. Rather than replacing workers with artificial intelligence， it is better to say that in the long run， we’ll enter a state of man-machine coordination. Surprisingly， to JD’s unmanned warehouses and Baidu’s pilotless car research and development， those concerned practitioners who are considered to be easily overlooked and replaced by robots have quite positive attitudes about embracing this change. When these workers are able to cooperate with machines， they are more willing to demonstrate their value as people over other types of workers.
This mentality is something probably everyone needs to embrace in the face of such a changing situation today.
The Spring to Come for Private Economy

On February 13， Zhang Tianren， a deputy to the National People’s Congress （NPC） and board chairman of the Tianneng Group， conducted the first investigation after the Spring Festival in Changxing County， Zhejiang Province. It focused on the development of the private economy over the past four months. He hopes to put the results of his research in the proposals to the NPC and really help private enterprises solve the problems they are facing.
On November 1， 2018， Chinese President Xi Jinping presided over a private enterprise symposium. During the symposium， he not only assuaged private entrepreneurs’ anxiety and uncertainty about the development direction， but also clearly laid out six measures to support private enterprises， including the reduction of corporate taxes and fees， solving the problem of financing difficulties for private enterprises， creating a level playing field， improving policy implementation， building a new type of relationship between the government and businesses， and protecting the personal and property safety of entrepreneurs.
After months have passed， the private economy has been placed in a prominent position. The state is implementing policy services， optimizing the business environment， helping private enterprises solve practical difficulties， and inspiring innovation.
