今年三月的一天晚上,我正在办公室里看教案,全神贯注地考虑着明天的语文课。陈校长走到我办公桌前,兴高彩烈地告诉我说:“王老师,学校决定由你教代数,派你到北京去学习,乘今晚上的火车动身。”校长把消息告诉我后,又征求我的意见。事出意外,又是兴奋,又是高兴,那还来得及考虑甚么意见。上北京去学习,那是求之不得的事,谁还不愿意呢!同行的伙伴,也是去北京学习的,不过原来他们都是教算术的,只有我一个人才是教语文的。这时我脑子里闪现了我能否教好代数的疑问。从北京学习回来,领导上叫我暂时教算术,顺便熟悉代数教材。这时,我思想发了岔岔,开始考虑自己的兴趣、爱好了。我想,在读书时我是挺喜欢文学的,毕业后,分到小学又教的是语文,这完全合乎我的理想。现要我改行教代数,真倒霉。特别是听了语文组老师讲的革新课以后,心里更不安,总觉得 One night in March of this year, I was in the office watching the teaching case, concentrating on the language class tomorrow.
