恰逢1913年军械库展览百年,作为美国艺术史上最为重要的展览,每每被人们提及,关注点往往都在欧洲的现代艺术。本文首次将关注的目光投向占1913年展览三分之二的美国艺术,投向美国艺术家在军械库展览的策划、实施和批评方面发挥的重要作用,并期望改变人们原有的观点,认识到他们的努力产生的重要影响。作者从参展美国艺术家入手,分析他们的来源地区、相互间的密切联系等问题,进而研究展览组织方美国画家与雕塑家协会的成立、展览的策划与运作过程,并随后介绍纽约军械库展览从A至R每个展厅的陈列情况和媒体的热烈反响。文中亦交代了军械库展览巡回波士顿与芝加哥的基本情况与变化、赞助人对美国本土艺术的支持与军械库展览资料的档案情况。军械库展览距今百年依然不断吸引着人们的探究与关注。
It coincides with the centenary of the 1913 Armory Show. As the most important exhibition in the history of American art, it is often mentioned by people that attention is often directed at modern art in Europe. This article, for the first time, focuses its attention on American art, which accounts for two-thirds of the 1913 exhibit, to the important role played by American artists in the planning, implementation and criticism of armory exhibits and looks forward to changing people’s original perspectives and recognizing them The impact of hard work has an important impact.
