和其他的画家不同的是,詹姆斯·格尼并不是一开始就对幻想画十分感兴趣,他的兴趣应始于一次博物馆之旅。一次偶然的机会,詹姆斯到离家不远的博物馆参观的时候,看到了一架恐龙的骨架,这个来自于远古的生物遗骸深深震撼了詹姆斯。这次不小的震撼,使得詹姆斯从此不可自拔地迷上了这种远古生物和神秘的远古文明,并促使他最终选择了幻想画家这一职业。
Unlike other artists, James Gurney was not very interested in fantasy painting from the outset. His interest should start with a museum tour. By chance, when James visited the museum not far from home, he saw the skeleton of a dinosaur that was deeply shocked by the remains of ancient creatures. This is not a small shock, making James fascinated with this ancient creatures and mysterious ancient civilization, and prompted him finally chose the art of fantasy painter.
