The mud type mentioned here is the semi-permanent type that everyone is familiar with. It is called a multi-cast or semi-hard mold. Mud casting is a casting technique created by the working people of ancient China. As early as 3000 years ago, China used mud to cast bronze bells and tripods. Two thousand years ago, it also used it to cast iron pots, iron ploughs and so on. Until modern times, this method has been used in the civil cast pots and cast rakes in China. After the liberation, especially since last year’s Great Leap Forward, many factories across the country have applied this ancient casting process creatively to the parts of modern machines. In the production practice, mud sculptures are fully displayed.
