《世说新语》由南朝刘义庆组织编撰,主要辑录魏晋时期士人玄言清谈和逸闻趣事。此书流传很广,历来多有刊本。四色套印本《世说新语》为明万历年间凌瀛初刻,属批点本《世说新语》中较有代表性的一种。凌瀛初,浙江乌程(今浙江湖州吴兴)人,他与编刻《拍案惊奇》的凌濛初为同辈兄弟,并与同郡的闵氏(闵齐伋)均为明代著名的出版世家之 “Shi Shuo Xin Yu” organized by the Southern Dynasties Liu Yi-ching, the main series of Wei and Jin Dynasties Xuan Yan talk and anecdotal anecdotes.
