The twentieth anniversary of the return of Hong Kong films has undergone ups and downs in its exploration of the transformation and co-production. In the midst of doubt and reproach, Hong Kong directors have harvested half of the commercial market. In the shrinking movie industry in Hong Kong, a new film director has emerged that is emerging as a small-budget project. However, behind the digital halo in Hong Kong, Hong Kong directors have accepted the mainstream melodramas and have even become the important standard-bearer of the commercialization of theme themes. However, it has only become clear in the last five years. Hong Kong film talent to enter the Mainland, leaving behind the burden of identity and ideology, political expression has remained in Hong Kong’s local production, as a taboo-style wonders. This essay aims to explore the trade-offs between Hong Kong films in the wild and the rules and the variations in the melody of Hong Kong’s films after the return to Hong Kong.
