According to the standards set by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, GDP per capita in a country or city reaches US $ 3,000 to US $ 10,000, indicating that the social development in that country or city has reached the medium level of development. Simply measured by this standard, Thailand is not enough for the well-to-do level. According to the data from the National Statistics Office of Thailand, in Thailand, per capita GDP was 81,057 baht in 2001, only $ 1,930 at the then exchange rate. However, according to the actual feelings of reporters in Thailand, it should be said that Thailand is already at a stage of developing from a prosperous society to a prosperous one.
