In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the orthodox school composed of six civilians such as Wang Shimin, Wang Jian, Wang Zong, Wang Yuanqi, Wu Li and Zuo Shou-ping dominated the arena after the chaotic times and became the mainstream of the art circles for more than 300 years.
