A Gondwanian palynoflora has been firstly discovered from the Chubu Formation in southern Tibet. About 48 species referred to 28 genera of spores and pollen, including two new species, are recorded and illustrated. The assemblage is mainly composed of trilete spores (Leiotriletes, Aniculatisporis) and bisaccate striate and nonstriate pollen (Faunipolleites, Protohaploxypinus, Sulcatisporites), and can roughly be correlated with those of the lower-middle Barakar Formation of Indian Lower Gondwana. The Chubu Formation is considered to be late Early Permian (late Artinskian- Kungurian) in age. A Gondwanian palynoflora has been found from the Chubu Formation in southern Tibet.
