How contemporary art can continue to exert its avant-garde social and political criticism in the era of consumer society and mass media is a question that Western and contemporary Chinese artists need to think and answer. On this issue, Wang Nanming put forward two concepts of “critical art” or “news criticism of the arts.” In last year’s article, he wrote an article introducing examples of making the mass media news content critical by creating artistic events so as to criticize the current politics Artist Hans Huck. In this installment, he also introduced the creation of two critically acclaimed artists Bradley McCurul and Jacqueline Terry, who are engaged in artistic creation of human rights issues, hoping that the practice of these artists will provide a place for Chinese contemporary art creation. New ideas for reference. In this issue of He Qing, Wang Nanming’s articles on the relationship between the academic studies of American abstract expressions and the state’s art policy are presented in the second issue of this column. The reader is interested in looking at two different opinions and welcomes continued debate on this issue, but I think it is more important than the U.S. conspiracy or act for the national policy of abstract expressionist art. There is no clear understanding of the operational system of Western contemporary art. Therefore, it is hoped that academic research in the future will lay particular emphasis on this aspect.
