翻译的归化和异化方法长久以来争执不断。孰是孰非至今并没有具体结论。但是在具体的翻译活动中,可以从归化和异化的角度来评判译文质量的高低。本文将列举中外两位翻译学者——汪榕培和威廉·瓦克(William Wacker)对陶渊明诗词《归园田居》的翻译文本进行深入研究对比,从而揭示出归化和异化在汉诗英译过程中,都发挥着各自的长处,相得益彰,使译文增添色彩。
The naturalization and alienation methods of translation have long been disputed. What is right and wrong so far there is no specific conclusion.
