Kashin-Beck disease (KBD) is a endemic, chronic degenerative joint disease that causes limited or disability of the patient’s limbs in endemic areas. However, its pathogenesis has not yet been completely solved, and the deficiency of selenium and iodine nutrients is widespread in rural areas where Kashin-Beck disease prevalence [1]. T-2 toxin is a toxic metabolite produced during the growth of Fusarium toxins. It is a biological factor that is widely distributed in nature and is a common toxins that contaminate field crops and stored grains. It is harmful to people and livestock, Its biological effect is systemic. Therefore, we hypothesize that T-2 toxin-contaminated food is one of the possible causes of Kashin-Beck disease under the condition of selenium deficiency.
