This draft was adopted at the second formal meeting of the FAO Expert Group on Pesticide Specifications held in Rome from 17 to 21 March 1997. 1 Introduction 1.1 The purpose of the new procedure is to increase the level of trust in commodity pesticides that meet quality standards and to fully evaluate the criteria in a highly transparent manner to enhance their confidence.
