From July 22 to 29, Capt. Wei Jiafu, President and CEO of COSCO Group, paid a visit to Turkey and Greece. During the visit, Capt. Wei had a meeting with Greek Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis on his trip to Athens, Greece. At the meeting, Capt. Wei briefed Prime Minister Karamanlis on the businesses of COSCO container ships serving Greek ports, christening a new container ship as COSCO HELLAS as well as enhancing partnership with Greek maritime communities. Capt. Wei also expressed that, as the 2nd largest shipping company in terms of total fleet tonnage worldwide, COSCO will make continued efforts to materialize the proposals announced by the leaders of the both governments to strengthen maritime cooperation. Wei Jiafu for his efforts to promote the cooperation between the two shipping nations and affirmed that Greek government will continue to support an enhanced relationship between Greece and China.
