任何变革都不可能一蹴而就,立时成为主流。年轻的高管常常梦想通过晋升提高威望,以为有了权威,就能从心所欲,推动变革。然而,等管理者晋升到高层后,却常伴有强烈的失落感,因为他们的号召力实在是弱得可怜。权威固然能赋予你支配他人的权力,但他人服从你的指令和心甘情愿为你卖命完全是两回事。 No change can be accomplished in one move and immediately become mainstream. Young executives often dream of improving their prestige through promotion, thinking that they have the authority to push change as they please. However, when managers are promoted to higher levels, they often feel a strong sense of loss because their appeal is really poor. Although the authority can give you the power to dominate others, it is quite different for others to obey your instructions and be willing to sacrifice their lives for you.
