Enping is located in the Pearl River Delta, where there are more people and less land, and it is getting more and more difficult to take home bricks. The Encheng Building Materials Factory has moved several times for this purpose. The nitrogen fertilizer plant adjacent to it discharges 60 tons of waste residue every day. There are 25 tons of boiling slag and 35 tons of gas slag. In the past ten years, about 200,000 tons of waste residue was dumped, accounting for nearly 100 acres of farmland. Finally, it was forced to pour into Jinjiang and pollute the environment. If these bricks can be used to make bricks, it can be used as an advantage. With the support of the relevant units, we have used two years of experiments to directly use these two types of waste residue to produce stronger cinder blocks. The first phase project of the Encheng Building Materials Factory using waste residue bricks was put into operation in July 1979, and 14,000 bricks per day were able to “eat” the daily waste residue from the nitrogen fertilizer plant.
