The Ministry of Water Resources and Electric Power held the National Electric Power Industry Conference in Beijing on February 1. The meeting was opened by Minister Fu Zuoyi of the Ministry of Water Resources and Electric Power. Vice Minister Liu Yubo made a summary of the second five-year plan for the power industry and a report on the work and deployment in 1963. During the meeting, Vice Premier Bo Yibo met with all the attendees and gave important instructions on the work of the power industry. The meeting ended in victory on February 19. In accordance with the spirit of the resolutions of the party’s Tenth Plenary Session, this meeting systematically summed up the past work experience and comprehensively analyzed the shape of the current power industry.
