Objective To observe the dynamic changes of late choice and attention process when linearly changing vestibular stimulation by using event related potential (ERPs) technique. Methods Twenty-three subjects underwent rotation at uniform angular velocity (1 0 ° / s) and 4 kinds of horizontal uniform angular acceleration with angular accelerations of 0.6 ° / s 2, 0.8 ° / s 2 and 1.0 ° / s2 and 1 .2 ° / s2. Subjects undergoing vestibular stimulation completed the same task of equal probability hearing. The auditory stimulus was a random interval of 1 0 0 0ms Chinese numerals 2 to 9, the task requires subjects to hear the odd (target signal) quickly press the key to hear even (non-target signal) is not key. Results Compared with control and four kinds of horizontal uniform angular acceleration rotation, N2 amplitudes of non-target ERPs were significantly decreased in the anterior central brain regions and N2 amplitudes of target signals ERPs were significantly decreased at F4, Fz and T4 electrodes . The P3 latency of target signal ERPs was significantly shortened compared to the control at uniform rotation. The four kinds of angular acceleration showed that P3 latency of target signal ERPs was longer at 0. 8 ° / s2 and 1 .0 ° / s2 stimulation and shorter at 0. 6 ° / s2 and 1.2 ° / s2. Conclusion The uniform rotation has the activation effect on the late selection and attention processing. Compared with the uniform rotation and the uniform angular acceleration rotation, it can inhibit the selective processing, which has several levels of inhibition.
