Yu Xiuhua did not expect he would stand on the podium of Renmin University of China, to the audience of college students, poets and the media recited poetry. She was a bit strenuous and trembling, but the scenery in the Jianghan Plain instantly filled the classroom. In September 2014, Poetry Magazine highlighted Yu’s work as a patient with cerebral palsy. Subsequently, these poems inspired a wave of reading craze from the poetic world to the general public. CCTV, People’s Daily and domestic portals all followed suit.
