[Objective] To observe the indexes of blood lipid metabolism of styrene occupational exposure workers and investigate the influence of styrene on the blood lipid metabolism of occupational exposure workers. [Methods] A total of 108 workers (58 males and 50 females) and 115 control subjects (60 males and 55 females) were selected for the study. Total cholesterol (CHO), triglyceride (TG) Density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL) as an indicator of lipid metabolism. The comparison of the blood lipid index of the occupational contact persons and the control subjects of styrene was carried out, and the occupational factors such as cumulative exposure dose and length of service of the occupational exposure factors of styrene were also analyzed. [Results] The average content of CHO and LDL in the contact group was not significantly different from that in the control group (P> 0.05). The average content of TG in the contact group was higher than that in the control group (P <0.05) 0.05). The percentage of HDL abnormality in the exposure group was higher than that in the control group (P <0.05), and the percentage of abnormalities in other indexes was not different from that in the control group (P> 0.05). TG was related to the average concentration of styrene in the workplace × length of service (P <0.05), but not to the other three factors (P> 0.05). HDL was correlated with the personal exposure dose and the average styrene concentration in the workplace (P <0.05). [Conclusion] Styrene may cause the increase of TG content and the decrease of HDL content in occupational exposure.
