机械密封摩擦副要求材料具有耐磨、耐温、耐介质腐蚀等优良的机械性能及较长的使用寿命。目前用于密封的硬环材料通常有:陶瓷(氧化铝、氮化硅、碳化硅)、合金铸铁、淬硬合金及喷涂或堆焊硬质合金等。北京化工机械厂为我国引进的十几套大化肥及乙烯装置中的机械密封生产备件,经过近260多次的工艺试验,首次应用真空熔结新工艺生产机械密封环,取得了较好的经济效果,并于1984年通过了各有关部门的鉴定,满足了国内各引进装置的需要。真空熔结工艺是一种表面冶金工艺,它是以自熔性镍基合金在金属体表面扩散、润湿、互熔,然后得到能满足使用要求的合金层。
