新课程强调数学教学要与学生的生活相联系。《全日制义务教育数学课程标准(实验稿)》要求,初中学生应能结合具体情境发现并提出数学问题;要乐于接触社会环境中的数学信息,愿意谈论某些数学话题,能够在数学活动中发挥积极作用。一时间,联系学生生活的数学教学蔚为风尚。但在很多情况下,和学生生活相联系却成为了一种虚假的、表面的联系。究其原由,是因为很多教师对数学教学联系怎样的生活、数学教学怎样联系生活和数学教学联系生活的限度等问题没有清晰的认识。这些问题的解决无疑对于当下数学教学有着重要意义。

For a time, mathematics teaching to contact student life is a trend. But in many cases, the connection with the student life has become a false, superficial connection. The reason is that many teachers do not have a clear understanding of what kind of life they should associate with mathematics teaching, how the teaching of mathematics relates to life, and the limit of teaching-learning life in mathematics. The solution of these problems is undoubtedly of great significance to the current mathematics teaching.
