In this paper the problems on SP kiln period is discussed, which lead to low CaCO3 decarbonation rate in the hot meal, so that kiln coating is vulnerable and material frequently falls off and blocks the preheater. Excellent effects are achieved when skipping the SP kiln period, neglecting the function of the dividing gate below the C4 preheater and sending the material completely into the calciner.
