Alice Walker is a representative of American feminist literature in the 1970s, and she is described as the spokesperson of black feminism. Her novel focuses on depicting the tragic fate of black women living at the lowest levels of American society and of women throughout the world. In the novel, a variety of female images are shaped. These images are different from the inferiority complex and ugly solidification image built in traditional literature. In the writings of Walker, black women gradually transformed from simplicity and ignorance into the pursuit of independent values and self-personality. They not only get rid of oppression, exploitation, but also spiritual self-liberation.
