第28届国际地质大会于1989年7月9日至19日在美国首都华盛顿举行。以程裕淇教授为团长、叶连俊教授等为副团长的中国地质代表团参加了这次大会。代表团由地矿部、中国科学院、国家教委、冶金部、化工部、有色金属总公司、石油天然气总公司、核工业总公司、统配煤矿总公司、国家建材局、国家地震局和国家海洋局等12个部门60名代表组成。加上通过其它各种渠道,我国参加会议的学者过百人,是1976年以来我国参加国际地质大会人数最多的一次。其中来自江苏的代表有南京地质古生物研究所李星学、吴望始、金玉玕、陈丕基、孙伟国和周祖仁:中国矿业大学刘焕杰以及南京大学杨怀仁和张忠英。现将本届国际地质大会的情况作一介绍,以飨广大地质工作者。
The 28th International Geological Congress was held in Washington, the capital of the United States, from July 9 to July 19 1989. The Chinese geological delegation headed by Professor Cheng Yuqi and Professor Ye Lianjun attended this conference. The delegation consists of representatives from the Ministry of Geology and Minerals, Chinese Academy of Sciences, State Education Commission, Ministry of Metallurgy, Ministry of Chemical Industry, Nonferrous Metals Corporation, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Nuclear Industry Corporation, Tongmei Coal Mine Corporation, State Building Materials Bureau, State Seismological Bureau and State Oceanic Administration Bureau and other 12 departments 60 representatives. In addition, through various other channels, over 100 scholars have participated in the conference in our country. This is the largest number of people attending the International Geological Conference since 1976. Among them, representatives from Jiangsu include Li Xingxue, Wu Wangshi, Jin Yucheng, Chen Piji, Sun Weiguo and Zhou Zuren from Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology: Liu Huanjie from China University of Mining and Technology and Yang Huairen and Zhang Zhongying from Nanjing University. Now I will introduce the situation of this year’s International Geological Conference in order to 飨 the vast number of geological workers.
