Into the big early summer 1954 I finished high school, admitted to Tianjin University Architecture Department of Architecture. To me, this is a very important timeline and it determines my ambition. I have since embarked on the path of learning, exploring and creating architects. I loved drawing and carving in high school and participated in the classroom layout. On the second day of that year, my paper-cut work “Celebrating the August 1 Army Day” was published in Xinmin Daily, the only newspaper in Beijing that year. Then the newspaper invited me to draw
