对于撒拉族的族源问题、宗教问题以及历史上出现的几次大规模的武装斗争问题,不少人都已经进行过研究,并有许多相关的论文发表,同时《撒拉族史》一书对此也有详细的介绍。撒拉族的社会组织,即工是撒拉族长期历史发展中存在的基层社会组织,虽然已经越来越淡化了。
