《海巫号》(SEAWITCH)出版于1977年。描写美国石油大老板同包括苏联在内的一些跨国公司,为了垄断石油市场,牟取暴利,围绕炸毁与保护一艘巨型石油钻井船“海巫号”,展开了一场惊心动魄的争斗。为了泄私愤,图私利。双方都使出了极为毒辣的手段,甚至不惜偷盗国家军火库的尖端武器。小说对垄断资本家的贪婪、阴险、残暴作了具体的揭露,但是必须指出,这部小说不仅故事比较离奇,而且对某些争斗的场面,作者又作了过分夸张的渲染,以至有些情节显露出明显的猎奇痕迹。故事结局的处理,也冲淡了对垄断资本家的谴责,这些都是不足取的。
