据华盛顿克利夫兰商业网报道,美铝公司,全球轻型高性能金属领导者,已经研制出世界最大的单件锻造铝合金车体用于战车以提高部队防护能力。这是2013年10月21日发起的美铝-美国陆军合作研究项目的一部分内容,其目标是替代目前组装的车体。根据早期的模拟,单件下车体结构比传统车体可提供2倍以上的防IED等的爆轰能力,主要是由于这种车体结构没有焊缝。除防护力提高外,单件车体可被优化,减轻质量,缩短组装时间和降低成本。
According to the Washington Cleveland Business Network, Alcoa, the global leader in lightweight high-performance metals, has developed the world’s largest single-piece forged aluminum body for use in combat vehicles to improve troop defense capabilities. This is part of the Alcoa-US Army Collaborative Research project launched on October 21, 2013, with the goal of replacing the currently assembled bodywork. According to earlier simulations, the single-body lower body structure provides more than double the detonation capability of a conventional IED and the like, largely due to the absence of weld seams in this body structure. In addition to increased protection, a single body can be optimized to reduce quality, reduce assembly time and reduce costs.
