善化寺大雄宝殿高大宽敞的殿内空间,表现出一种宏大的气魄,大殿内塑像必然要表现一种雄阔健拔、庄重威严之感,尺度体量也必定要高大才能与大殿的气势相匹配。殿内二十四诸天这样大型的塑像,造型处理在整体轮廓上追求简洁,细节线条和层次关系处理不追求飘逸洒脱,而是比较严谨工整,以突出塑像整体庄严的气势。依据这样的特点,塑像使用了综合塑造技法:强化动态体量气势的圆雕手法;压缩空间的浮雕处理手法;丰富细节层次的线刻手法;体积塑造与线刻处理巧妙结合的塑造手法。
