江泽民在“5·31”讲话中向全党提出了坚定地站在时代潮流前头的新要求。他要求全党站在先进思想理论进步潮流的前头 ,切实把发展作为党执政兴国的第一要务 ,牢记和实践执政为民的政治信念。深刻理解这一新要求 ,对于我们在新的历史发展阶段高举邓小平理论的伟大旗帜 ,按照“三个代表”的要求全面推进各项事业 ,具有重要的理论意义。
In his “May 31” speech, Jiang Zemin proposed to the entire party a new request that he firmly stood before the trend of the times. He demanded that the entire party should be at the head of the trend of progress in advanced ideological and theoretical theories, effectively develop development as the top priority for the party in governing and rejuvenating the country, and keep in mind and practice the political conviction that governing for the people should be implemented. A profound understanding of this new requirement is of great theoretical significance for us to hold high the great banner of Deng Xiaoping Theory in the new stage of historical development and to push forward various undertakings comprehensively in accordance with the requirements of the “Three Represents.”
