The key to the practical application of metal matrix composites in automotive engines and spacecraft lies in the development of materials that meet the demanding requirements of the work environment. Al 2 O 3 -based oxide fibers and Ni-Al-based intermetallic compounds or nickel-based superalloys produced by a special method are combined to obtain a metal matrix composite having excellent high-temperature strength properties. There have been a series of successful development of such materials
