A new study published in the journal NatureChemical in the United Kingdom found that injection of salt into cancer cells can cause apoptosis in cancer cells. Salt is expected to become a new generation of weapon against cancer. In the new study, Dr. Phillip Gail, a researcher at the University of Southampton in the UK, and Jonathan Celester at the University of Texas in the United States and colleagues developed a new molecule that can be killed by carrying sodium and chloride ions into the cell Dead cancer cells. For the first time, scientists use this protein, called “synthetic ion transporter,” to induce cancer cells to “commit suicide.” The new study found that chloride ion transporters can work closely with the sodium channels in the cell membrane, causing salt to flood into cells, causing the cells to self-destruct.
